Aims of the Research
Acute kidney injury is increasing in incidence globally and there is a strong association between acute kidney injury and the development of chronic kidney disease.
This project aims to improve our understanding of how our immune system repairs the kidney after acute injury. Specifically, we aim to determine the role of a set of immune cells called “innate lymphoid cells”. The group will identify where in the kidney these innate lymphoid cells are located, and determine their role in the repair response following injury.
